Taking a trip to Del Valle Campground in Livermore. Stopped at Costco for a portable DVD player (on special this week for $150) and lunch. Also got gas at Costco and while we were there, discovered that the driver seat armrest is broken and of course he figures that I broke it while going back to pick up Alyssa's water. My armrest broke on our very first ride. He figures we'll have the van completely destroyed by the end of the year.
Picked a campsite and then went swimming for a bit. Well Scott and Amanda swam, Alyssa and I waded.
Campsite #21
Good stuff: Only a few others at the campsite. Nobody around to see me in my swimsuit! Amanda had fun swimming.
Not so good stuff: Alyssa insisted on being held constantly. Both girls were still sick and a bit crabby. Tried using a small tent as a playpen. That failed big time. Alyssa SCREAMED the entire time, even when Amanda was keeping her company. Forgot the marshmallows (for the s'mores), the cream for my coffee, and the cereal. Squirrels ate the cookies and graham crackers that we accidentally left out (in boxes) overnight.
